Haason Reddick Expresses His Frustration with the Jets, Hinting at a Possible Ludicrous U-Turn in His NFL Career That Leaves Fans Speculating .Giang

Linebacker Haason Reddick is still yet to be seen in a New York Jets uniform since trading from the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason and is already looking for a route back.

Reddick was already facing a contract dispute at the Eagles, but that became the responsibility of the Jets when he was traded for a conditional third-round selection. The 30-year-old has continued his holdout at the Jets, and despite requesting a trade already general manager Joe Douglas hasn’t been pressured into resolving the issue and continues to fine Reddick.

So far the situation has cost Reddick $8 million, and for each game he misses between now and the end of the season that will increase by $800,000. The situation is even more frustrating for all parties involved after the Eagles signed Jets free agent Bryce Huff to a three-year deal worth $51 million, although that deal hasn’t worked out as expected.

Reddick is yet to play for the Jets, and Huff has just one tackle in 80 snaps for the Eagles so far this season. According to ESPN, Huff isn’t fitting in well with the Eagles organization and Reddick is open to the idea of returning to his former team, meaning a sensational reverse trade could be on the cards.

Jets beat writer Rich Cimini discussed the situation on his “Flight Deck” podcast, and failed to rule out a possibility where Huff and Reddick return to their former organizations. “Bryce Huff, probably one of the more disappointing free agents in the NFL right now, and get this, 77 snaps right now on defense, only 1 tackle, 0 pressures, 0 quarterback hits, 0 sacks,” Cimini said.

“So essentially, he’s done in 77 snaps what Haason Reddick has done with no snaps, which is nothing. I don’t think that’s an indictment on Huff. I mean, we know he’s a good player, and so I do believe the Jets made a mistake by letting him go. It’s just that he’s not a good fit in the Eagles’ system.

“And clearly Vic Fangio, their defensive coordinator has not embraced Huff. And so that’s on the Eagles. They screwed up that signing. They’ve taken a good player and they’re misusing him.

Cimini continued, adding: “Could he get traded to the Jets? Let’s put it this way. A little birdie told me that Reddick I don’t think would be opposed to something like that. I think Reddick is so frustrated with the Jets’ situation — of course, he did request a trade in August — that he wouldn’t mind going back to Philadelphia.

“Again, heard it from a little birdie. Take it for what it’s worth. Could that trade happen? Reddick for Huff? Boy, that would be one of the more bizarre trades in NFL history. A lot of things would have to fall into place, which makes it kind of far-fetched, but it’s an interesting situation to look at nonetheless.”

As usual, a trade would come down to finances, and it’s unlikely that the Jets will be willing to take on Huff’s $17 million annual salary after letting him go. Reddick also failed in his earlier negotiations with the Eagles, and returning to Philadelphia would strip him of any leverage.
