Dubbed the “Non-Woke Actors Guild,” this new organization seeks to provide a platform for actors, writers, and creators who feel stifled by the increasingly progressive, and at times restrictive, nature of Hollywood’s current climate. Both Barr and Allen have been outspoken critics of what they see as the excessive focus on political correctness in recent years, and this new guild appears to be their response.

Barr, who was famously fired from her own successful reboot of Roseanne after a controversial tweet, has long criticized what she describes as the “censorship” in the entertainment industry. Similarly, Allen has expressed concerns about the narrowing of creative boundaries and the fear many actors have about being canceled for expressing differing opinions.
